Hello everyone, I'm re-introducing myself. This site is changing and I think that's for the best. I'm not going to mention anything about what's been happening in my private life anymore. What I am sharing with you is impersonal, perhaps what I feel as some kind of duty.

I guess I've decided to change the direction of this site just to get my words out somewhere and to know for sure that other people will know what's happening to me. I'm not doing this as a joke which some people on the internet might think. I feel like the internet has a sincerity problem. I am very sincere. From now on this page is all about the sounds, at least cataloguing them so if someone else is experiencing them we will have some kind of record.

To begin I am going to explain exactly what has happened so far. If you read the previous pages which you obviously must have, you'll know that about two months ago I've started hearing this popping sound outside my flat. I started trying to record it, just using my phone. The problem is phones aren't very good at recording things. Have you noticed how pictures always come out differently than how you saw them? Audio sounds kind of metal, smaller? My phone is not great at recording. So here is the recording:

After fiddling with the audio and the html I can concur that the audio file is corrupted or fundamentally broken or else my coding skills are worse than I thought. I will give you a description instead because it is the only way that I can explain the rest of what's happening.

The thing is, when I was recording it felt like I was outside on the balcony for at least more than ten minutes but then this audio file is only about a minute long, just like these crackling sounds, like fireworks or gunshots. And before you say I've lost my mind over fireworks just consider, how often do you hear fireworks in your neighbourhood? Do they thunder and shake? Sometimes they're rapid and sometimes slow and echoing and drawn out.

And no, this doesn't happen everyday, just randomly and sometimes I don't notice when it stops or starts, I just realise, oh, the sounds are back or the sounds are gone. So the problem is no-one else is ever around when it happens, when they know I'm the only one listening. Like I'll be sitting in the bathroom and I'll hear them and I'll be in the bathroom for what feels like hours and it will seem like I've gone into this whole new place. And then I'll come out and it will have been five minutes and C says no it wasn't raining or there's no storm. But like I said, it's not a storm or fireworks or gunshots. It's something else.
